03 //Overview

A proof of concept for an interior-design and quotation platform. An engineer's IFC or GLB file becomes a 3D building in the browser, room by room. Customers walk through it, furnish it with the client's catalog products and get AI style ideas, and nothing is ever uploaded.

04 //The problem

Home buyers struggle to picture a space from drawings, and design firms lose time turning ideas into quotes. The client wanted customers to design their own interiors in 3D from the real building files, with every item a catalog product a quotation can be built from, and AI used for inspiration without ever passing a picture off as something you can buy.

05 //The solution

• IFC and GLB files parsed in the browser with web-ifc (WebAssembly) and split into rooms, with nothing uploaded
• An orbit view and an eye-height walkthrough with the keyboard
• Click-and-place catalog furniture with collision checks, drag, rotate, floor and wall finishes, undo and redo
• AI style concepts kept apart from the buildable design and labelled as inspiration
• Auto-style that refurnishes a room using only catalog products, as a single undo step
• A before-and-after result with a 2× export, designs saved in the browser, and a phone layout
